Office 365 Settings – Start Page and Notifications

When we log into https://portal.office365.com, in most cases we are directed to Outlook Web Access. Office 365 Admins land on the Office 365 Admin Portal page.Have you ever wanted to change which Office 365 service you land in? OneDrive, Sites or Yammer perhaps?

A feature appears to be coming that let’s you do just that. Choose to start in:

  • Outlook, Calendar, People or Tasks
  • Yammer / Newsfeed, OneDrive, or Sites

UPDATE (9 Sept): Delve and Office Graph are now rolling out to Office 365. Once you have Delve, you can set it as your Start Page. Being that it surfaces new and relevant information between you and your connections, it’s a good place to start the day and drill down into messages, posts and documents for more detail.
Try it as an alternative to starting in Outlook.

Additionally, change your notification settings for when you receive a new email or a calendar reminder.

Here are my observations and thoughts regarding these two new features.
